Course objectives: by the end of the programme participants will be able to:
* Define “stress” and differentiate between pressure and stress.
* State the short and long term effects of stress on an individual and the organization.
* Identify the early warning signs of stress to enable a proactive approach therefore creating an environment where prevention of stress is the keyword.
* Carry out informal meetings designed to support the risk assessment process.
* Devise strategies for dealing with stress in line with their legal duties and responsibilities as laid out in the new HSE Standards on work-related stress. Areas covered include:
Setting up a risk assessment
Evaluating the results
Production of agreed action plans for joint responsibility to manage stress
Identifying training needs
Monitoring and reviewing
